General guidance

Crowd-safety awareness

Move with the flow, avoid pushing, and follow barricades and marshals.

  • Follow the routes, barricades and one-way systems set up by the authorities.
  • Do not push, run or stop suddenly in a moving crowd.
  • If the crowd becomes too dense, move diagonally towards the edge rather than against the flow.
  • Keep your arms in front of your chest to protect your breathing space if you are caught in a tight crowd.
  • Avoid peak hours on main bathing days if you are travelling with children, elderly people or people with health conditions.
  • Never climb on barricades, railings, poles or temporary structures.
